Gear
Mountaineering Gear:
For nearly every climb, you will need mountaineering boots, crampons, a climbing helmet, and an ice axe. If your adventure involves glacier travel, be sure to include a rope, harness, and crevasse rescue equipment for safety.
Camping Gear:
For day trips, essential items include a backpack, headlamp, hydration system, and the Ten Essentials. However, many mountaineering trips involve overnight stays, so you will also need a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and stove.
Mountaineering Accessories:
Items like an altimeter watch and navigation tools can enhance your comfort and ease of travel in the mountains.
Environmental Policy
At Dawa’s Expeditions, we believe the mountains are a treasure for all to experience, but they must always be respected and safeguarded. We are committed to preserving the pristine beauty of these awe-inspiring landscapes on every expedition.
We are acutely aware of the negative impacts many commercial expeditions have had on the mountains and their surrounding communities. Our approach is different. At Dawa’s Expeditions, we adhere to ‘Clean as you go’ and ‘Leave no trace’ principles, ensuring that all climbers and guides strictly follow environmental guidelines and regulations.
Our team members are thoroughly trained and knowledgeable about environmental concerns related to mountaineering and climbing. This includes the proper disposal of waste and the recycling of oxygen cylinders, among other practices. Additionally, we embrace a Recycle, Re-use & Improvisation (RRI) strategy for our expedition equipment whenever feasible.
Training
While many clients are skilled and experienced, Dawa is passionate about sharing the knowledge that has fueled her success. She works with you to develop your mountaineering skills, proficiency, and confidence, encouraging greater self-reliance, awareness, and safety.
Believe the mountains are for everyone to enjoy, regardless of ability. Our goal is to help our clients grow in strength and skills, pushing beyond what they thought possible with every expedition. Even the most experienced climbers can benefit from the shared knowledge of others, and we strive to ensure that every participant leaves with enhanced abilities and confidence.
Our support team, largely composed of Sherpa guides, provides valuable insights into local cultures, offering a deep understanding of the mountains and their surrounding environments.
